Verizon is my ISP. Win XP SP2. WESTELL SB5100 Modem. Dell Latitude Laptop .
I am attempting to connect to my work VPN when I work from home using the verizon connection. My work changed the VPN they used and now my Laptop is unable to access the VPN when I use Verizon. (wireless or Landline connection) . Verizon works fine with my home PC. My old laptop worked fine before Work gave me the Dell and changed the VPN they use.
On The Dell I can connect to the Internet but not to the VPN. The Dell can connect via wireless to the VPN, through hotels and other wireless networks- the only hangup appears to be Verizon.
My office told me to have Verizon open 5 specific different ports for TCP and UDP for my Modem. Verizon did that (at a ridiculous one time tech support charge. It is only now that I know that I can do it myself.) This changed nothing. I have been back and forth with both Verizon tech support and work tech support and now am not sure what I can do to get this to work.
I am not that computer literate and just do what they tell me to do.
I do know that the only change was that I got a new laptop and that the company VPN changed.
Any suggestions, ideas would be very much appreciated. I work form home a great deal of time otherwise I am traveling when working.
Not sure if there is any other information I need to add here so let me know if any more is needed.
Thanks anyone!:4-dontkno
