HI all. I'm Martijn and this will be my first post on this forum.
Before I explain my problem, let me, let you all know that I've tried to find a solution on this forum before making a new tread, no luck so far.
I'll try to provide as much info as I can:
-) I do have knowlegde about Ip, dns, gateway and possible conflicts.
-) I do have knowlegde about Operation systems since WIN 3.11. (windows only)
-) I'm sure all is correct with the ip/dns/gateway settings. (but now I'm beginning to doub myself)
-) The signal never drops. (90 to 98% signal)
-) The link (Mbits a sec) also doesn't drop.It stays on a clear 54mbits. (graph of link is 98% as well, with ofcourse minor changes to 96 to 100%)
Okay, the problem, how odd it will sound:
-) It worked always perfectly stable. It was like I was hardwirded. Pinging the router it self or the ISP on some location arround the world where the same as being connected on a cat5 cable (hardwired) 1 a 2 ms to router and 18 to center germany and 105 to Canada. I did a ping *.*.*.* /n 1000
-) Now the router gives me very strange ms responses. its 1 ms to even 3399 or even has a few timeouts. But the internet is fine. Even download speeds will go to max speeds (54/8 = about 6MB a second. Also uploading is np. But "the connect to that ip dns is slow. (prolly because my pc to router has unstable connection)
-) Then some other day. The ms to router is fine again, all day long. But then the internet loads slow as a turtle can walk. Also noticing that sometimes my brower(s) Chrome, firefox or I.E gives an an error the dns is offline. Or the gateway is. Then refreshing the page a few times in a row makes it works. So I ran a graph that continously check the connection to the internet. It has alot of spikes (1 sec to 10 sec at random, while pinging the router doesn't do it.) So the probleem reververd with the one above.
-) Now I scanned the devices and other wireless routers in the neigberhood and am using a channel no 1 has (in my range). it does not solve it.Also that would be inlogical because pinging ip /n 1000 results all 1000 to be a 1 to 2 ms. So connection is clear between my pc and router. But now the router to the ISP lags, and before it was revered. Router lagged. But isp was fine...
Things I've noticed:
-) So in short words. Sometimes my latenly is 2 ms to the router.. but from router to the internet very unstable. Even having errors that gateway or dns is down. I checked with MSN messager and it will says the same (but changes to report different things each random time period). And sometimes my ms to router is unstable but heck. The web loads as mad. Also gaming seems to be less laggy.
Side note:
-) I'm Never dropt from signal or from the internet. The lags and delays are totaly random.
-) I'm using Comodo firewall/internet securerity, anti spam virus etc. I do am watching the active in and out connections from my pc. Nothing is active only the programs I allow to the net. Wich are all like 6 kbs a sec.
Any idea how i could scan my connectivity with my wireless router with some kind of program. That also checks the keyports or well short said all things?
I'm feeling like the router is overloaded , like a cpu is on 100% load non stop. And rarely it is'nt Its kinda like that in normal noob language
Edit Now I was thinking there might be an hidden ip conflict of some sort. So I've changed the IP on the router from 192.168.0.7 (thats my pc's gateway to router) To 192.168.0.1 As the default IP. But now I'm unbale to acces the router menu.. It does ask me to login but refuses to accept my password. Even when i restore it to default (admin/admin)
This is weird:/
