Hello, First of all apologies if this is posted in the wrong location since this is my first post.
I am currently at my wits end trying to understand why I cannot connect to one of the routers on our home network, currently we have router A which is connected via the phone line and router B which connects to router A via LAN/cable and acts as a repeater.
Up until this afternoon there were no problems with router B until all of a sudden it just stopped working, trying to connect to it now will result in a "limited connection", I tried resetting router B and I was able to log on and reset but resetting appears to have done nothing. Router A works perfectly fine so I am fairly sure its not related to the problem.
I tried using ipconfig in command prompt to see the results when connected to router B and from the looks of the results there is no default gateway: Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi:

Note:The "primary" router can be an actual router, a software gateway like Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing, or a server connection that has the capability to supply more than one IP address using DHCP server capability. No changes are made to the primary "router" configuration.
Configure the IP address of the secondary router(s) to be in the same subnet as the primary router, but out of the range of the DHCP server in the primary router. For instance DHCP server addresses 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.100, I'd assign the secondary router 192.168.0.254 as it's IP address, 192.168.0.253 for another router, etc.
Note: Do this first, as you will have to reboot the computer to connect to the router again for the remaining changes.
Disable the DHCP server in the secondary router.
Setup the wireless section just the way you would if it was the primary router, channels, encryption, etc.
Connect from the primary router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports on the secondary router. If there is no uplink port and neither of the routers have auto-sensing ports, use a cross-over cable. Leave the WAN port unconnected!
This procedure bypasses the routing function (NAT layer) and configures the router as a switch (or wireless access point for wireless routers).
Router B had been set up so that DHCP server has been disabled and the other appropriate settings have been changed to match Router A.
I Changed the IP address of Router B to 192.168.0.254, I also checked the DHCP range of router A and it was between 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.254, I changed the ending range to 253 so router B would be out of the range.
Still after all of this Router B still won't connect and the IPconfig results are the same as before (oddly enough before the router stopped working the router's IP address was set to 192.168.0.5 so that definitely would have been in the DHCP range and it was working fine).
For Router B when changing the options in the network and sharing centre in order to connect to Router B I use 192.168.0.1 for the IP address (I don't think this value matters too much), subnet mask is the default 255.255.255.0 and default gateway is 192.168.0.254 (ip address of the router)
to log into Router B I type 192.168.0.254 in the web browser, after logging on to the router and checking the IP settings the IP address is listed as 192.168.0.254 , the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 but the default gateway is blank (this could be something I missed but since I was not 100% sure I didn't change it).
I still haven't found a solution, I tired changing the blank default gateway in router B to match the IP address of router A but I don't think it has worked.
To make things easier I have attached a PDF with images from router A and B, hopefully this should be enough for anybody to understand.
I Appear to have found the fault, admittedly it was something I should have mentioned, we use these "TP-Link" wireless plugs in order to simulate a wired connection wirelessly, after now trying to connect the routers directly via a cable instead of through the plugs router B is working normally.
I should be able to find a solution to the problem from here.
