So I just move to the UK and it's going to take two weeks to get my internet set up. My landlord gave me the password for his WiFi for the meantime. All my devices have connected no problem, except for my desktop. I have never use WiFi on my desktop, as I have always had a wired connection. I bought this adapter as I didn't want to spend much on something that I was going to use for such a sort amount of time.
So, I went to their site on my laptop, downloaded the driver (made sure I picked the right version (v2)) and installed it. I choose not to install their program with it, but after it didn't work I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with their program, and no change. I can see the network that I want to connect to, and made sure the security was set up the same (WPA2 AES) which I grabbed from my laptop. I thought maybe I got a bum piece of equipment, so I tried it on my laptop, and it works just fine.
I got the WiFi inspector and it shows a solid steady signal from the router. When I try to connect it just says "Windows was unable to connect to EE-BrightBox-xxxxxx"
Problem computer is running Windows 7 - Laptop Windows 8. I've never had a third party antivirus, just Windows Defender. I also disabled Windows Firewall hoping that would help. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times - even trying to manually install from the correct folder.
Help me Tech Support - You're my only hope!
