Could you please confirm whether I am right or not?
*ping 192.168.0.1-> it says whther the computer is correctly connected to the router and LAN or not.
*ping 127.0.0.1-> It says whether the Network card and network software (Example:TCP/IP) work fine or not.
Thanks.
What do you mean by "no problem"? you mean the computer is connected to the router correctly?what "ping 127.0.0.1" says is the same as the one "ping 192.168.0.1" say?
What does "ping (default gateway)" say?
Thank you in advance!
No for "ping 192.168.0.1" all of them fail, whereas for "ping (gateway)" sent=4 and received =4.
This is because my default gateway is not 192.168.0.1!!! I have read that 192.168.0.1 is the default gateway, so why do I have the different default gateway?
Actually now that I'm home my default gateway is 192.168.1.1
But when I'm at my work place my default gateway is completely different. Both home connection and in my work place are wireless connections; I was just curious why in my work place my default gateway is completely different?
Your work is using a different ip address for it's gateway simple as that as to why you would have to query them on that.
I'll mark this as solved.
