Hello,

I'm having a problem with my home network. Whenever i try to connect the same network (Lawson Dynex) shows up twice. One as a private network named Lawson Dynex and the other a public network named Unidentified network.

When i run a diagnostic i get the error that more than one active connection is made. The only problem is that since both networks are using the same connection i can't disable or disconnect from one without the other one doing the same.

Also this is only happening on my personal computer. The network is working fine on every other computer on the house. I am getting an ip address and everything but Vista is preventing me access to the internet because of the two connections.

I wouldn't appreciate any help trying to disable my unidentified network while keeping Lawson Dynex.

Thanks

Download and run this Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, click the Networks link on the upper left and paste a screen shot of that screen here. Note that this application requires NET Framework to run. If you get an error about a missing function, download and install NET Framework.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
