Alright so the title pretty much says it. This is the first time I have had this problem. My internet keeps disconnecting, whether I am playing online games or not, I was just in a call with a buddy on Skype and it disconnected. I have tried all of the basics such as turning the modem and router off and on and reset both. It takes anywhere from 5min-30min for me to even get the connection back, this is ridiculous.

Modem: Arris CM550A
When I get disconnected the modem Power and ds lights stay on, us light flickers online and the link light goes out.

Router: Linksys E1200

I looked around before this post and saw someone request this information so i have some of it ready. This is my ipconfig /all while the internet is still connected and fine.

Welcome to TSF,

Your IPs are showing that you are connected to the Modem or perhaps the network cables are not properly plugged in to the correct ports.

Verify that a patch network cable is connected between the Modem’s port and the Router's WAN or Internet Port. Connect a patch network cable from one of the router's LAN or Ethernet Ports to your wired computer, now try to power cycle by following this Tutorial.

Please give us an update if this works or not if now we'll move on to the next phase of troubleshooting.

My network is configured properly, my ISP has come out twice and checked that as well. I called them a few weeks ago when this started happening but they had to schedule to come out and of course when they did, everything was working properly. So they just said there was nothing they could do because everything was working.

Who is your ISP?

Did you have your computer plugged in to your Linksys ethernet Port (usually 4) when you run the ipconfig /all? You should get a Private IP of 192.168.1.X, this is your Linksys router's subnet.
Here's mine:

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.11(Preferred)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Thursday, March 29, 2012 6:51:39 AM
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DHCPv6 IAID . . . . . . . . . . . : 200309707
DHCPv6 Client DUID. . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-15-45-23-E7-00-24-54-62-14-08
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

I would suggest to reset your Linksys to the factory default setting then reconfigure everything from scratch, see if that helps and give us an update.

Cry

unfortunately, I have the same device and experience with seaNy31.. though I restored the router to its original factory settings, I still encounter such disturbances. I checked the timing, in our case is 2hrs, and it is the length of the DHCP lease time for the router. I'm still searching up to now how to lengthen it or how to go around it. I even chatted a CSR from Cisco and she told me there's nothing wrong on the lease time. hope for any ideas..
