Hello!
I have a D-Link DNS-323 NAS enclosure with two hard drives. It has been reliably working for a few years, until an incident yesterday. I was backing up a computer to it with Comodo Backup. The timer said it was going to take about 8 hours. After 4 hours, the computer could no longer access the hard drive. I rebooted the NAS, and from another computer, I could only see one of the hard drives on it. After logging onto the NAS from a browser, it told me that the hard drive needed to be formatted. So, I shut everything down for the night. This morning, I loaded it up and the hard drive and its contents looked ok.
To me, this seems like a problem with the NAS enclosure and not the hard drive. What do you think? The NAS enclosure and hard drives are old enough that I will replace them as soon as I can afford it.
Thanks,
D
