you seem to have an IP OK
-IPv4 address:192.168.2.12 (preferred)
on the Ethernet connection
-Description:NVIDIA nFORCE 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
So it maybe a firewall issue and may need to be removed, but they have to be removed with removal tools - I can provide details - once we know what has ever been on the PC

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc

try a tcp/ip reset - see below

Also can you run a Ping test - all i need to know is if you get a reply frm each ping - see below

------------------------------------------------------------------------

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10

For Windows Vista through to Windows 10
Start> Programs> Accessories> and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on the screen )

For Windows 8 & 10
To open a Cmd Prompt or an Administrator Cmd prompt from the Desktop. Use Win + X and choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the list.

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold and red for the following commands.

  • Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog and press enter
  • Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log and press enter
  • Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log and press enter
ReStart (reboot) the machine.

If you receive the message
The requested operation requires elevation.
Then please open the command prompt as administrator - as requested above
Start> Programs> Accessories> and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen )
Please note and post back - if you receive the following message :-
Access is Denied
This error will occur with windows 8 and windows 10 , so ignore.

please post back the results in a reply here - its important we know that these commands have worked correctly and not produced any errors
right click in the command prompt box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Details also here

also the link has a Microsoft Fix it , which will do the above for you

PING & tracert tests

We would like to see the results from the following Ping Tests - post back the results in a reply here.

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

For Windows 8 or Windows 10
To open a Cmd Prompt or an Administrator Cmd prompt from the Desktop.
How to open an Elevated Command Prompt in Windows 8
Use Win + X and choose Command Prompt or Command Prompt (Admin) from the list.

For windows version, XP, Vista, W7
Hold the Windows key and press R

Now type CMD

Now press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

echo > 0 & PING 192.168.2.1 >> 0 & PING 46.228.47.115 >> 0 & PING google.com >> 0 & tracert google.com >> 0 & echo [/php] >> 0 & notepad 0

It will export the results into notepad and then automatically open the notepad and display on your screen.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results into a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will now be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy

Now go back to the forum - goto the reply and then right click in the reply box and paste the results.
The results from the notepad should now appear in the forum reply.

xirrus is for wireless adapters
you are showing a Ethernet connection - so you may not have a wireless adapter

did you run the Ping tests in my post #8
PING & tracert tests
From Old Rich post on device manager
what is listed under network adapters

however, in post #3 you had from an ipconfig /all
-Description:NVIDIA nFORCE 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
-DHCP enabled:yes
-IPv4 address:192.168.2.12 (preferred)
-Default gateway:192.168.2.1
-DNS servers:192.168.2.1
so in device manager under network adapters you should see a
NVIDIA nFORCE 10/100 Mbps Ethernet

yep, and those I need to know about

So each will have a heading

PING 192.168.2.1 >>
do you see 4 replies with stats
OR timeout

PING 46.228.47.115 >>
do you see 4 replies with stats
OR timeout

PING google.com > >
do you see 4 replies with stats
OR timeout

its important I know those results to know the next move
IF they ALL have a reply - then you have internet connection and something is blocking
IF one or more of the three have a timeout, i need to know which one(s)

No timeouts,all stats.
Which means you do have a good connection to the internet and something is blocking access

But lets just make sure I understand the issue correctly
I have a weird problem. My wi-fi is working well but I don't have access to internet with Windows 7
The PC you have provided only shows a Ethernet connection (cable) did you expect to have wireless on this PC

You say you have NO internet access
How can I do that ? I don't have access to internet
But the last tests show you have , on a cable connection

1) Make and Exact model of the PC
2) Do you think you should have wireless on this PC
3) Its connected to the router via a cable - correct
4) from the ping results , it is connected to the internet - but something maybe blocking
5) Apart from "360 Total Security " What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc
6) "360 Total Security " - This is new to me, and appears to be a free version and does not have a removal tool to uninstall. Its quite common for antivirus/security suites to cause issues and just uninstalling often does not solve the issue - However, Please uninstall this product and see if that resolves the issue. If so , then you can always re-install
7)
Restore the computer (when it was working),safe mode, changed the ethernet cable
Have you tried "safemode with networking" and if so , does that work

please answer all questions with as much detail as possible
Thanks

I own 3 computers;a Windows 7,a mac and Linux-Windows XP.Only the Windows 7 doesn't work;the two others are working,one with a cable one without.My tablet,my intelligent tv,my Iphone are all working with my network.

I tried safemode with networking (didn't work).
The computer is a Compaq Presario CQ5621F.Had Norton internet security 2011 (long gone).

Norton internet security 2011 (long gone).
unless you use the removal tool - it may not be "long gone" - seen that a few times

Norton Removal Tool
I would recommend that you restart the PC and run the removal tool for a second time or even a third time - I have found instances where the removal tool needs to be run twice to fully remove all traces of norton and symantec from the PC

https://www-secure.symantec.com/nor...t=Norton Core&pvid=f-core-cur&version=current
