Hi guys,
Wow after a long time I'm coming here. Ok here is my issue. I cannot access the internet using windows XP. I don't have a modem, it's a LAN connection coming from my local cable operator. The internet is fine and the reason I'm saying that is because I'm dual booting with linux and the post that I'm adding now is on linux. Now on to windows xp. I can ping my own computer's local host 127.0.0.1 and it pings just fine. No packet loss. I also ping my local IP address which changes if I use my router and that works fine, no packet loss.
Now I have tried to ping the gateway using the router and I have tried it directly as well, pinging the gateway doesn't give me any replies. I have reset tcp/ip settings-nothing doing there. I have repaired the WinSock.dll file-didn't do any good. I have also reinstalled TCP/IP for windows by going to TCP/IP properties, and installing it manually by linking to E:\Windows\Inf. It reinstalled and still nothing. I have also done a IPCONFIG /release and IPCONFIG /renew. Nothing there.
Now I'm just kind of stumped. I know it's not the internet because the internet works fine with me using the router right now. I need some help

. Whatever you guys need, let me know. I want to get this resolved as I have lots of windows internet work pending. :p
NOTE:
Initially I wasn't able to ping my localhost, but then by uninstalling Agnitum Outpost firewall, I was then able to ping it.
