Ok guys, I read a thread somewhere in this forum site and it seems that you guys showed excellent troubleshooting support to us guys having extreme problem. So here is my technical history

I have a HP TouchSmart 300 Desktop running on Windows 7 OS. Previously, we had this D-Link router DIR-615 and it was running perfectly, until my mom decided to take it off because no one is using the router because I go to a university that's why. Then, last week her ordered kindle fire came and she wants to use it already but the router is non-functional already. So earlier today, she bought a new router which is EA3500 LinkSys Router and I've been configuring it for almost 3 hours now. The setup was bit easy until the internet connection process keeps on failing. Before the setup, I have the connection, but whenever I am connecting it to the Linksys router, I don't have a connection. I used the blue wire that came with the box and occasionally, the Local Area Network displays "Network unplugged" or just Cisco16xx.

My main problem is the internet connection. Whenever I am using the ISP Modem -> Router -> Desktop wiring, there is no connection. But when I directly connect the ISP Modem -> Desktop, there is an Internet Connection

Thanks guys for a great help :)

Welcome to TSF,

Depending on the ISP, some do require Mac Cloning which is visible in your router settings. Give it a try, if it doesn't work you may always undo it.

Ok so I've done what you said. But there still seems to be a problem. A DNS Server problem? What to do?

Oh, by the way, the last of the three ipconfig /all entries, that's the ipconfig /all @wireless :)

Thanks for all the information and output provided.

Can you try changing the DNSs manually of your wired and wireless settings it is and use these 121.1.3.81 and 121.1.3.16? Here's a tutorial.

Is the 121.1.3.81 the Primary DNS and the other is for the alternate? Or the first one is for the wired, and the later is for the wireless? Because I used both addresses as primary and alternate for wireless and wired connection.

So in the tutorial, there's an ipconfig step. So, here's what I got.

The first DNS is the primary or preferred and the second one is alternate. Please use both in your WLAN setting then test your wireless connection after.

Hi, it's been a month since I last tried to configure this. Anyway, it is still not working. :( Is this an issue with my ISP or just the configuration? Is there another way to configure this? I happened to run the CD that came with it several times but still I am ending up without connection.

Sorry to hear that your issue has not been resolved yet. Do you still have the D-Link router? If you do try connecting that one.

It won't hurt to contact your ISP if you'd like to use the Linksys router.
