I have a Netgear wireless router and just set up my wireless network. The only problem is that when I remove the ethernet cable, I lose connection to the internet. My operating system is Vista.

In the network connection icon, it shows that I am connected to an unidentified network. Also, on the globe icon it shows that I am connected to the network by local access only. Furthermore, I seem to be missing tabs under the wireless network connection properties section, such as advanced and sharing. I seem to be sending packets but not receiving any.

Not sure what to do at this point. I tried all the basics at this point, including rebooting and powering the modem and router down.

Please help
