I have been plaqued by BSODs ever since 5 months ago, and tried several methods to rid of them. I manage to not BSOD for an amount of time, but it began again, and this time its all stdriver64.sys BSODs. I suspect it being something to do with my sound/soundcard, but I only suspect. I need an accurate reading before taking action. I have the required Perfmon HTML and the (BSOD_Windows7_Vista_v2.64_jcgriff2_) thing here in a RAR file. Need help fixing this.

NOTE: I have severe eye problems. If I do not respond to your postings, please PM another staff member for assistance.

stdriver64.sys is most likely associated with your sound card. As such, the first step is to update the sound card drivers from the manufacturer's website.

BUT...

perfmon shows that there are several configuration errors with your Symantec/Norton protection product. Please do the following:
Quote:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_...080710133834EN
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus, then check to ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on.
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.
Only running the last 10 memory dumps (18 November to 12 December 2011)

systeminfo.txt shows that you don't have SP1 installed. Please do the following:
Quote:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates
MSINFO32 reports these problem devices:
Quote:
Security Processor Loader Driver ROOT\LEGACY_SPLDR\0000 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

avast! Network Shield Support ROOT\LEGACY_ASWTDI\0000 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

sptd ROOT\LEGACY_SPTD\0000 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.
The Security Processor Loader driver error is usually present if there has been an infection on the system. As such, please run these free diagnostics:
Quote:
Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Resources (read the details at the link)
There are also free, bootable antivirus disks at this link: Free Online AntiMalware Resources - Bootable Disks
If you find malware, here's a link on how to post in the Security Center: NEW INSTRUCTIONS - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help - Tech Support Forum
The !avast error shows a problem with Avast. Since there's also a problem with Symantec/Norton - uninstall Avast using this procedure:
Quote:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the antivirus software from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of the antivirus software using one of these free tools: Antivirus Uninstallers
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.
Then install only 1 (one) antivirus product on your system.

Finally, the sptd error points us to Daemon Tools - which often causes BSOD issues on Win7 systems. Please uninstall Daemon Tools, then use this free tool to ensure that the offending sptd.sys driver is removed from your system: DuplexSecure - FAQ

The last 10 memory dumps blame many different things. I suspect that the problems with Daemon Tools and Norton are causing this (and this may be compounded by the missing Service Pack). As such, once you've completed the steps above, please see if that has stopped the BSOD's.

Sorry for the late response. I'll be trying these now, hopefully this halts the BSODs. Thanks, i'll reply again for update.

Its been awhile since my last posting, but I have done everything you've said, and it worked, sort of. It did not completely stop the BSODS but it certainly slowed it down. However I found out I didn't have SP1 since then, and I can't seem to get it. It fails in windows update all the time, and manually getting it off Microsoft's website didn't work either. I tried a solution using chkdsk, which didn't work. and Now BSODs have returned, and is slowly becoming more and more frequent and random. I have provided a new set of Perfmon and Jcgriff data (Possibly containing old data from last time)

It still blames sound drivers. But I've found that the driver actually belongs to the NCH Software Suite installed on your system. Please uninstall that. If it stops the BSOD's, please try to get the lastest, Win7 compatible version from the manufacturer's website.

Ok, Ive gotten rid of every program that belongs to NCH using Programs and Features. I don't know if I actually have to find the related drivers and remove them manually. I also removed a few other programs in Programs and Features that was just taking space. I'll keep you updated if I bluescreen or not. Thanks

No need to manually remove the drivers. If that's needed, we'll see it in further BSOD's - and we'll suggest another way to get rid of them then.

Its been a couple weeks now since I removed the programs. so far, I have not bluescreened once. It seems that those drivers may have been the main cause of these bluescreens I was having recently. The main issue of what was causing my early bluescreens have not been identified, but has not been any trouble. I believe for now, this problem is solved. thanks for your help =)

Ok, apparantly its not over yet, I got some new BSODs that probably ain't related to the stdriver issue. I got a bunch of Service Exception BSODS at first, then after the last Service Exception, i got a bunch of Kmode exceptions all today (In one day). I dunno whats causing it, but after like a long while after the stdriver problem went away, this happened. I'm pretty suspicious that it is a driver or program I recently got. please help, want to know what program or driver if it is any at all that is causing this. Included with the new perfmon and Jcgriff reports, only look at the recent 11 bluescreens, and lower down is the problem that no longer persists, I believe,

I would first update or remove these programs with older drivers:

ATKDispLowFilter.sys Tue May 13 23:03:13 2008 (482A5671)
ASUSTeK Display Lower Filter. Installed as a part of the Asus Gamer OSD utility. You can get that as a download for your Asus video card.
Driver Reference Table - ATKDispLowFilter.sys

ManyCam_x64.sys Thu Mar 13 03:46:01 2008 (47D8DBB9)
ManyCam Virtual Webcam
Driver Reference Table - ManyCam_x64.sys

asusgsb.sys Thu Sep 27 09:14:50 2007 (46FBACCA)
ASUS Virtual Video Capture Device Driver. Installed as a part of the Asus Gamer OSD utility. You can get that as a download for your Asus video card.
Driver Reference Table - asusgsb.sys

I suspect that the GamerOSD utility is to blame.
1 - uninstall the GamerOSD utility and don't use it for a week or two
2 - reinstall the latest version (if you want the program) but don't overclock with it for a week or two
3 - overclock (if you want to) and test for a week or two (with no other changes).

If it continues to BSOD, please run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

Thanks for the reply and help! gonna remove those drivers/programs for now and see what happens. If this and the driver verifier don't work, I'm thinking of reformating to solve these software BSODs if they are OS issues, and not hardware.

Only use Driver Verifier IF it continues to BSOD

Alright, after removing said programs, it didn't BSOD for 3 days straight. Then all of a sudden I started getting BSODS. it occurred rarely, but of recently It got crazy. I got strange system crash where it just immediatly in record time, goes blackscreen, then into my booting up menu in about 2 seconds from what I was doing on my desktop, and this happened several times aside from the BSODs and it occurred randomly. I haven't used driver verifier yet, given it's warnings about it completely crashing your system useless, and I haven't yet backup up all my data, which is what i am doing now before even trying, but I think i'm gonna fall upon a reformat decision.
Here is a new perfmon and Jcgriff report.

I suspect that my BSODs is continually screwing up my services which in turn makes it BSOD more, but I don't know.

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:
Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates
If you're having difficulties with installing a Service Pack, please use the SURTool from this link: What is the System Update Readiness Tool?

After failing multiple times to update to SP1, I finally was able to get it to update. I've just installed SP1 and the updates after it just now. We'll see what happens after, thanks for the help.

Installing SP1 and updates after it seem to have worked for about one month. I haven't installed any new service or program afterwards. After the first BSOD, which occurred recently, I got a bunch of successive Bluescreens after it, occurring rapidly throughout the day. They are all Service exceptions and Kmode exceptions, and it seemed to be happening only after the first bluescreen occurs, then more occurs after until something is done. It may be my hardware that causes the first BSOD, but the rest after could be the result of that first bluescreen, that is my suspection, then again, I don't know to much about it. Some service or program is damaged, and is probably causing more BSODs, in turn damaging more of the registry, I think. What service or program could be doing this? I was only able to get a perfmon reading, since my computer suspiciously BSODs on every attempt to use the jcgriff BSOD program. I can probably fetch that later.

If it can't run the jcgriff2 tool, then please:

Zip up the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and upload them with your next post.

Then go to Start and type in "msinfo32" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Save a report as an .nfo file and save another as a .txt file (in case of corruption, which happens a lot). Zip them up and upload them with your next post also.

BSOD theory is that multiple BSOD's with different BSOD STOP errors and different causes being blamed is a hardware problem.

Experience has shown us that it's not just bad hardware, but can also be:
- overclocking
- compatibility issues
- low-level driver problems
- malware

So, what we do is we rule out the stuff it can also be (overclocking, compatibility, low-level drivers, malware) - which then leaves us with a hardware problem to track down.

I don't see anything related to that in the MSINFO32 file, and am re-running the memory dumps to only get the one's after SP1 was installed (and the current problems started).

5 memory dumps
3 different BSOD error codes
5 different causes blamed

BUT!!! I found that you have a Daemon Tools driver in the 3rd party drivers that were loaded. Please ensure that it's uninstalled.

Your ASUS Kernel Mode Driver for NT (EIO64.sys) dates from 2009. Please update it from the Asus website for your motherboard

Your AMD USB Filter Driver (likely part of the chipset drivers) - usbfilter.sys dates from 2009, please update it from the AMD website: AMD Support & Drivers I suspect this is the latest version as your chipset drivers seem to be updated (with the exception of this one)

Your Realtek USB card reader driver (RtsUStor.sys) dates from 2009 also. Please update it from the Realtek website (be sure to choose the USB one): Realtek

If all of these don't fix the BSOD problem - then it's a hardware problem.
We'll start with these free diagnostics: Hardware Diags
If they don't show what's wrong, then we'll move on to this procedure: Hardware Troubleshooting Via System Stripdown

I see, thanks for the help. The Daemon Tools program you saw on there was redownloaded and installed for only a day, since I needed it, then I uninstalled it using programs and features shortly after. Did it leave behind a driver or somethign extra I need to get rid of manually?

Also, I am having major difficulties finding those drivers. I have my Motherboard model: FOXCONN 2AB1, and still ASUS did not find any results, nor did google throw any either. The USB FIlter and USB Card reader drivers I also have troubles with. I need help finding these specific drivers given they are integrated drivers, and harder to find to me.
