Hi,
Last month and again last week (following OS reinstall) my computer was hanging a long time on shut down. On reboot, all seemed okay until at the next shutdown when I got a BSOD with the following:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 1000009f
BCP1: 0000000000000004
BCP2: 0000000000000258
BCP3: FFFFFA800CDA3B60
BCP4: FFFFF800045923D0
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\012112-8985-01.dmp
J:\TMP\WER-21106-0.sysdata.xml
J: is a HDD where I moved the system TMP folder for better SSD (bootdrive) performance.
Additional symptoms include the computer not going into sleep mode and (intermittently) difficulties with charging my phone and ipod via the USB ports. I switched USB ports from the PCI add-on card to the front header and that didn't make a difference. Since the BSOD, I shut the computer down manually and have not experienced shutdown, BSOD or USB problems however the computer still does not go into sleep mode.
I tried getting help from the Microsoft Technet site however I was not able to figure out how to get permissions on the C:\Windows\Minidump\012112-8985-01.dmp file despite various online resources. I'm not a computer guy by training but I'd sure like to know what I'm doing. I'm hoping that you can help me.
I'm following the "blue screen of death-posting instructions " at
http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...s-windows-7-and-vista-452654.html#post3045922
however I got the following error when trying to run perfmon /restore:
Error: An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The interface is unknown.
I'm, not sure what you mean by "bump" the thread.
I'll proceed with step 6.. per the BSOD posting instructions.
There are my system specs:
Windows 7 64-bit Professional SP1 updated as of 01/28/2012
Intel i7-2600
MSI Z68 GD-80 G3 mobo
BIOS V18.7 (MS-7672)
16 GB G. Skill memory F3-12800CL9-4GBRL
Intel 320 160GB SSD (SSDSA2CW160G3)
hdd: SEAGATE ST32000542AS SATA
WESTERN DIGITAL WDC WD1001FALS-00E8B0 SATA
WESTERN DIGITAL WD15EADS-00RGB0 SATA
ATAPI iHES112 3 BD-ROM
PLDS-DVD+RW DRIVE
(2) Acer P236H monitors into integrated graphics
No other video card installed
Seasonic X650 PSU
Corsair 500R case
This is the first OS on this homebuilt system I put together from all new parts (December 2011) excepting SSD/HDD/PLDS-ROM drives and both monitors.
OS is from retail upgrade disc and installed December 2011.
I did reinstall the OS earlier this month, not knowing why the system was hanging on shutdown and not yet having had an error code to go by.
Sorry for the length of this post but I'm not wanting to waster your time so anticipating your questions.
Thanks,
Papawolf
