Slow Acer. BSOD. Black Screen.

Hello guys :grin:

I've got a problem with my aunt's Acer Aspire One AO751h. The netbook is rather slow. I get an occasional BSOD & sometimes just a black screen - netbook is ON but nothing.

· OS - Windows 7
· x86 (32-bit)?
· What was original installed OS on system? - Windows XP
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? - Purchased
· Age of system (hardware) - 5 years
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? - 1 year
· CPU - Intel Atom Z520 @ 1.33 GHz
· Video Card - Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500

P.S: I'll have access to this netbook only for 2 days, then I'll be away for 2 days. So, sorry to keep you waiting.

Hi Babbzzz,

A quick look through shows links to NTFS and ReadyBoost, this looks like a hardware problem; check the drives (Seatools then chkdsk /f /r then 3x runs of SFC /scannow), remove the USB/SD card and disable ReadyBoost, test the RAM (7+ passes on each stick in Slot 1, if both check out ok, test 1 of them in Slot 2): Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure and Memory Diagnostics
