I finished my new build and keep getting random bsod's about every day now. My specs are Intel I5 4690K - Asus Z97 Pro WiFi - Asus Strix GTX 980 - 16gb Corsair DDR3 - Samsung EVO 850 250gb SSD - Seagate 2tb HDD - Seasonic 650 Watt Gold+ PSU - Silverstone FT02 Case - Samsung 4k uhd monitor u28d590d

Any guidance is very appreciated.

Welcome to TSF,

Sorry for the delay. Could you please check to see if your SSD is running the latest Firmaware. Theres a known issue between the ASUS 97A boards and the Samsung EVO 850. The latest firmware and BIOS correct this issue.

Your dump files are indicating missing or corrupt page data when access the drive.

Could you also run the following in an elevated command prompt, Disk Check "chkdsk /f" Yes to schedule then restart and "sfc/ scannow"

Thank you, Aus for your reply. The firmware on the SSD is current. The bios is also current as well. I have attached the log for the cshdsk for you. I haven't a bsod in quite awhile, since I first posted this. I can tell you what I have done since. I did have the "rapid mode" on with my ssd. I have since disabled that and updated my video drivers to the latest beta. Also initially when I first built this I was using the built in bios "game boost" which gave it a supposedly small and safe overclock. I have since set it back to default.

I just got another BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL while using paragon to back up my user files to my external. First, BSOD I've had in awhile. I attached the Sysnativefilecollection file, but when I tried to run the performance test I get this. "Error:

An error occurred while attempting to generate the report.

Access is denied. "

I tried to run it 5 times ? I hope the above attached will be enough

This dump isn't spammed with pagefaults which was probably due to rapid mode previously. But there is very little information in the dump file to narrow anything down. But i would try and clean install your GPU drivers, from what i could get from dumping the memory was that your GPU driver was calling to shift data around. Again there is very little to go on.

Use this tool to delete the GPU driver to do a clean install. Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 15.7.5.5

Interesting, when the last bsod took place, rapid mode was off. The system was actually trying to move 400 gigs within the paragon hard disk manager. But it was between my western digital spinner and my external drive, not the SSD. If that has any bearing on it I don't know. My video card is a little dated, 4 years old. I was at one point thinking about replacing it with some newer and about the same power because I don't game at all. Just run 3 monitors off it.

I really appreciate your time looking into this and helping. It really means a lot and I am very grateful. I've waited so long for this new build and these random BSOD's are gonna drive me to drinkin' lol. I will do what you suggested, but I remember I was having issues with the AMD drivers and the last driver install is a beta driver the most up to date one for my older card. Think I should get a newer card ? Just desperately looking for a fix. Thx again, will do the driver reinstall and wait for the next situation and will keep you updated

Regards

Mark

I'm going to run another memtest86 tonight at least 8 times, and was curious is I should run DRIVER VERIFIER? It looks like that it may be a tad tricky. I've made 2 images files with Macrium just in case my install gets hosed, but will wait for your suggestion.

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT doesn't necessarily mean your RAM. Anything to do with swapping data between HDD > Pagefile > RAM and back is all to do with memory management.

Again the latest bsod point to your GPU driver it was running a high irql which indicates the driver was writing data. The application that caused the BSOD was Chome.exe. Where you at any point watching anything that uses 3D acceleration like flash videos?

Id start by isolating components from your PC. Start with your GPU first, your motherboard has an on-board integrated graphics that will allow you to keep the PC running for diagnostics.
Once removed use the PC like normal untill you get a BSOD. If you dont get one its possible you have a bad GPU.
If it still BSOD, remove all but one stick of RAM, If it still crashes take out all but your main OS HDD.

First ...thank you for your time. Yes, I was watching a youtube video. I had a feeling all along it was the video card. The day I got all those BSOD's I was running the latest AMD drivers but the beta edition. I have fully removed them and install the latest non-beta drivers, and didn't have 1 BSOD yesterday ! I will follow your advice and go from there.

Ok...after much more bsods... I gave up and wiped the hard drive, and upgraded to windows 10. Not one issue yet. 10 is so much faster than 7, not sure why I even went back to 7 on this new build. I'm going to stress test this new o/s and hope for the best.

Out of curiosity how old is the psu as I had a similar issue on a similar build last week and the psu was the cause. Looking for the cause made me a bit crazy but mine was shutting down half the time and bsoding the other half and a new psu fixed problem.

Not sure if I should start a fresh post being I am now on windows 10. Fresh install yesterday and this morning I got 2 bsod's. I did run sfc/scannow and it found errors and fixed them. I also reset my virtual memory to default...letting windows handle it. I got a gut feeling its my 4-year-old graphics card. That's the only part that's not new on my new build. I certainly thought a fresh legit install of 10 would have solved my issues I was having with 7. I certainly hope you can make out the issues from the attached files.

Appears to be a very old modem driver.
