Hi~
I just bought a new Dell XPS 410(running Vista) and while I love the system I.E continues to crash when I search on ebay or if I X out of a tab. The system is brand new with a LINKSYS firewall router and Dell is telling me I have spyware on my system. I ran a full scan with Windows Defender and the system is running normally and all of my Windows updates are installed. I am not very computer savvy so please any baby steps would be appreciated. Dell is telling me I have to pay them over $200 to help me remove spyware from my brand new system that I am sure is not the problem! Thank you for any help!

Hi~
All I can tell you is that if I enter an item that I am searching for on ebay like Gymboree for example, as the page loads I.E sends a message that it has stopped working and windows is searching for a solution then it restarts. What is confusing is that I am then able to perform the search without i.e closing again. All the webpages that I have open obviously close when it resets and it is a real hassle.
Also if I have three tabs open and I "X" out of the pages from the top right (not from the tabs) I get the same message and i.e restarts. So if I am going to bed and want to shutdown the system I "X" out before shutting down and i.e restarts which is something I do want it to do.
Hope this helps and any help would be appreciated.
This all happened the day I bought the system so I know there is not spyware on it.:sigh:
