Darn BSODs!

· OS - Windows 7 x64 OEM
· The original OS that was installed on this system was Vista x84 (I did reformat the drive before installing 7 though, so I didnt use the update utility)
· The MotherBoard and RAM on this system are about 4 years old, the gfx card and the CPU are pretty new (less then a year old).

· CPU - Intel Q9400 Quad Core, I OC'ed it to 3.2GHz (I did try to revert the OC to see if thats the problem, but the BSOD was happening anyways)
· Video Card - Gigabyte, Nvidia 460GTX OC 1gb
· MotherBoard - Gigabyte S-Series EP43-DS3L
· Power Supply - SeaSonic SS-600ET 600W

I also attached the Error report by Windows as "BSOD Error".

Thanks in advance for any type of help, I would be glad to get rid of this nonsense as soon as possible :D

Hello,

First I would like to start with a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can narrow down the problem.

Please Uninstall Daemon Tools Pro. Uninstallation of DAEMON Tools Pro | DAEMON Pro Help

Uninstall AVG using the removal tool. AVG | Download tools and utilities

Install Microsoft Security Essentials for testing

Make sure you are using the latest Chipset and network drivers from the motherboard manufacturer site. GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-EP43-DS3L (rev. 1.0)

Make sure that you are using the latest software for your Razer mouse. Razer Support

DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL (c5)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is
caused by drivers that have corrupted the system pool. Run the driver
verifier against any new (or suspect) drivers, and if that doesn't turn up
the culprit, then use gflags to enable special pool.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:

Ok, so far so good, thank you very much for the help.

Can I install AVG again though? It never failed me before and I doubt its the cause of this, if I cant or shouldnt then can you suggest an alternative program? (except for Norton, god I hate those guys).

#6 ·
I would suggest using the PC for a few days to see how it goes.

I would recommend MSE over AVG but that is just my preference. There have been quite a few problems with the latest AVG.

If you would like to reinstall AVG just make sure that uninstall MSE first.

#7 ·
Thank you sir, for the kind support! So far I had 0 BSODs and MSE seems like a good alternative for AVG.

On another note, Ive had one monitor die on me last night (blinking on and off) any commentary on that?

#9 ·
The monitor does light up for just enough time to show the LG logo (about 1-2 seconds) but then it turns off instantly after.
I tried plugging it to the other port on the gfx card, but it persists even when its disconnected entirely from anything but the power supply.
I have tried using another identical power cord that I had lying around (25V), but that did nothing either.

#15 ·
Ok, so the screen is officially dead, one of the circutes got fried and I really cant be bothered with it atm, so I ordered a new one!
On a less pleasant note, the BSODs are back D:

I had, yet again, uploaded the necessary files

Here is the MS Error report (not sure if this has any use but just in case):

Recommendations:
If you are overclocking, as it appears you are: Remove your overclock. That should be the first step when you start getting crashes.

Your hardware pre-dates Windows 7. I would recommend checking compatibility of all hardware.

Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use add/remove programs to remove the software. After removing the software, use the sptd.sys uninstaller to remove sptd.sys from the system by choosing to uninstall the software through the installer utility.

SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win7)

Remove MSI Afterburner. By itself, it can cause crashes.
RTCore64.sys Tue Sep 6 06:24:50 2011 (4E661112)
RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known BSOD issues w/Win7)

Outdated and Problematic Drivers:
You should update/replace/remove the following drivers. Any drivers that are known to cause BSODs, please remove the software or remove the drivers and then remove the device; steps to do so are given after the list of outdated drivers. If you have ASACPI.sys installed, make sure it is updated and not pre-2009; pre-2009 versions are known to cause BSODs:

P1764.sys - this driver hasn't been added to the DRT as of this run. Please search Google/Bing for the driver if additional information is needed.

Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 02:04:13 2009 (49A65B0D)
Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=Rt64win7.sys
To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support site for those devices. If you need help, let us know.

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if possible.

Device Concerns:
Code:
Standard floppy disk controller	ACPI\PNP0700\4&66B6A6F&0	This device is disabled.
Why is the above device disabled? Even disabled devices can load drivers that can cause conflicts with the system. Enable the device, update its drivers, and then disable it if it was causing problems. Please notify us of whether disabling it was a troubleshooting step.

3rd Party Drivers:
The following is for information purposes only. My recommendations were given above. The drivers that follow belong to software or devices that were not developed by Microsoft. Any drivers in red should be updated/replaced/removed. You can find links to the driver information and where to update the drivers in the section after the code box:
