Computer locking up, need to do a hard reset

I have been experiencing problems with my PC locking up and needing to hold down the power button to shut it off. It seems to be more of an issue during the summer months, leading me to believe it is a heat issue.

I downloaded Core Temp to see if I could get a temperature reading when it locks up. I started the program, left it running on the desktop, and let the computer sit idle. When it locked up, the last reported temperature for Core 0 was 43C and Core 1 was 41C, which did not seem very extreme.

Is there anything else I can do to try and see if a specific component is failing due to heat?

I have tried using compressed air to clean out my case, made sure all case fans are working, and reapplied Arctic Silver Silver 5 thermal compound on the CPU.
