Hello,

My ASUS G5505 JK laptop uses SSD drives and hasn't been able to install updates for a while mostly returning error 0x800F0922. It has windows 8.1 OEM installed.
Today it displayed the BSOD at startup, allowing me only to start in safe mode.
Wasn't able to go back to a previous restore point (returned Error 0x80070057)

Issues that may have contributed:
1 - Installed drivers for HTC android device the previous day
2 - Difficulty with installing windows updates

Couldn't create file using perfmon /report, returned 'The system cannot find the path specified.' error

Also tried Speccy for system info, but got error "Cannot initialize SPC dll"

Attached the Sysnative diagnostics file.

Please help,

Dirk

Finally managed to look at the dump file inside the attached which revealed that the problem was an updated driver named 'RiftEnabler.sys' which is for the Oculus Rift device I sometimes use for viewing 3D video. I just moved the sys file on to the desktop for the time being (until an updated driver becomes available).
So all is well for now..

Hi, sorry for the delay but looks like you solved the issue yourself :) Good job!

Noticed a program called "VideoDownloaderUltimate" in your logs which looked suspicious and seems like it's considered a potentially unwanted program which is starting on boot. You may want to uninstall it if you did not install it yourself.

Code:
VideoDownloaderUltimate	c:\programdata\videodownloaderultimatewinapp\videodownloaderultimate.exe /repair	HUON-PINE\Dirk	Startup
