Hi guys,

I have a BSOD problem.

Model: HP Pavilion g4 Notebook PC
OS: Windows 7
System type: 64-bit
Memory (RAM): 4GB
Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Video card: Radeon (TM) HD 7670M
Wattage: 100 - 240V
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
Laptop bought less than 3 months ago

Some background info that might be useful(?):
  • The first BSOD occurred earlier this month and has been occurring on and off until today where it has happened almost 10 times, usually every time after i start the computer (even from sleep mode)
  • Before the BSOD problem started, for a week a window keeps popping up every minute or so saying... "Error message, windows cannot find 'onlineupdate/liveupd.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.". Tried to solve that by following advice like this, and after a while, the popping up stopped. A couple of days after that, the first BSOD happened.
  • Everytime after the laptop restarts/turns on, the Action Centre flag will show red circle-'X' symbol saying the Windows Firewall is disabled. I have to click on it to enable.
  • About 2 days ago Action Centre also noted that Skype has a problem, and so I uninstalled and then reinstalled it. No notification regarding Skype problem since.
  • Sometimes upon starting, Action Centre also says that Norman Anti-Virus is turned off. I have to click on it to turn it on.
  • I've also attached the minidump files just incase anyone'd like to see.
I realise now probably should have asked for help sooner . Any input would be greatly appreciated

oh I forgot to mention: Earlier today I tried to start in Safe Mode with Networking, but about 10 seconds into Safe Mode the BSOD happened again. Thanks

My System

Recommendations:

I would suggest removing Norman Antivirus to start. It sounds like it may not be working as it is supposed to. Uninstall Norman Virus Control / Norman Security Suite | Norman — Proactive IT security

Checking Antivirus Conflicts:
  1. What antivirus software did the system come with?

  2. How did you remove that antivirus software?

If that does not resolve the problem, follow the steps to use Driver Verifier to check for driver conflicts.

I also recommend you update/replace/remove the following drivers:

ssadadb.sys Wed Jan 14 14:27:20 2009 (496E58B8)
Google Android USB Driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=ssadadb.sys

Disable Verifier prior to updating or removing drivers/software.

To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support site for those devices. If you need help, let us know.

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if possible.

3rd Party Drivers:
The following is for information purposes only. My recommendations were given above. The drivers that follow belong to software or devices that were not developed by Microsoft. Any drivers in red should be updated/replaced/removed. You can find links to the driver information and where to update the drivers in the section after the code box:
