BSOD win7pro x64

I keep getting BSOD's with win7pro x64 when running nobeltec navigator 11. There are two prolific Serial to USB adapters running to bring data from a GPS and an automated identification system to the box. I have to disable the microsoft pen input as it often gets confused with the GPS. I'll attach the zip file when I see a way to do it.

Hi -

The probable cause -
Code:
[FONT=lucida console]ser2pl64.sys    Wed [COLOR=red]Sep[/COLOR] 24 03:03:23 [COLOR=red]2008[/COLOR] (48D9E63B)[/FONT]
http://sysnative.com/0x1/DriverReference.html#ser2pl64.sys

The device driver is too old for Windows 7 SP1 x64 and pre-dates Windows 7 RTM itself.

Contact the company and ask them when they will write a Windows 7 compatible driver.

Regards. . .

I went to the prolific site and got their new drivers. I uninstalled the old drivers and rebooted without having the devices plugged in. I installed their new driver package and rebooted only then plugging the usb-serial converters in.

Just 30 minutes later heard the bsod reboot take place.

I've attached a zip.

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi -

The same driver showed up again -
Code:
[font=lucida console]ser2pl64.sys    Fri Mar 12 05:21:50 2010 (4B9A15BE)[/font]
I hope it will work for you w/ Windows 7 x86, but cannot guarantee it.

Regards. . .
