Re: BSOD Ultimate x64
for the 3b error reinstall your video drivers
the 7b usually relates to the hard drive bein unaccessable
check the cable is secure
try another cable
d/load and run the h/d makers diognostic utility on the hard drive

I have a SATA and no other cables. I ran Seagate Diag but it was a brand new build.
Also am not sure if SATA is configured for 3gb/s n how would I do this?

OK I have a 8500 gts. When I go to my device manager do I go to display adapters n uninstall? It then asks me to uninstall device drivers, do I just say OK?

Re: BSOD Ultimate x64
when you are installing your video driver are you disabling a/virus first as it can cause corruption of the installation
vista is different to earlier installs it removes the old drivers itself during the install
where previously you had to do it manually
if you do it by the device manager you have to boot back into low resolution mode to do the install

OK, I didn't have AVG when I installed Vista & drivers & updates. Do I need to exit AVG when uninstalling the drivers this time around?
The SATA jumper was in, cheers your a Jedi. I sure didn't know what to look for.

Re: BSOD Ultimate x64
that's not common they usually save a few cents and don't supply the jumper
always disable a/virus when installing video or sound drivers

Not sure if I'm with you here.... It was a fresh install pre:activation on a formatted, wiped HD. First thing I did was install with NVIDIA CD and updated. Completely unsure if its compatability with x64 is cause so went back to XP with the same results. Wiped HD again then re-installed, updated then activated Vista.
HELP!! It just happened 2 me again!!!

Re: BSOD Ultimate x64
OK here's a new one on me. I have a PCL 300k web-cam which whenever I go to install it tells me I need an update for x64 which does not apply to my system.
THEN when I install their Arcsoft video capture package, my CD-ROM stops working. Keeps telling me my drivers are now corrupted!
Does anybody know where to get x64 drivers for such WEBCAM? I goole to Sonix but does not let me install. Have a disk but doesn't have any support. Believe that!! No online help AT ALL.

Re: BSOD Ultimate x64
Hi Diom...
Earlier installs may refer to the actual age of your Vista system (Vista came out in Jan 2007). Some of the earliest public release drivers that I have seen are dated November 2006. Later installs during 2007 may have different version drivers depending on your system configuration and manufacturer. Some of course are updated via Windows Updates.
I'll take a look at the memory dumps for you to see what else is evident. Please see my PM for details.
Regards. . .
