thread title:
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) - ASUS GTX 760 & DirectX
New Post: 8/17/2014 in TSF BSOD, App Crashes And Hangs Forum
A:
BSOD - system crashes in detail:
I am Black & Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) over "DirectX Graphics Kernel" / dxgkrnl.sys+5d140 conflict with ASUS GTX 760 & DirectX.

Seems to be related to:
driver for Samsung Monitor

B:
basic System Information:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OS: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit (Service Pack 1)
· Is original installed OS (I purchased OEM version from Fry's )
- Is new Hardware and OS installation (Date : 2014-0509)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4771 CPU @ 3.50GHz

Video Card: Graphics card
ASUS GeForce GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5
Video Memory GDDR5 2GB

MoBo: EVGA Z87 FTW 141-HW-E877-KR
RAM: 8 Gb DDR3 1600Mhz DU Corsair
Power Supply: Corsair RM650 650w PSU
-
also:
DirectX version: 11.0
Monitor: DVI-I to VGA Adaptor to KVM to Samsung
SAMSUNG Monitor Model Name: SyncMaster 912N

Virtual Machines:
Windows XP Mode (Virtual Windows XP)
Oracle VM VirtualBox
VPN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So far I have ruled out:
hardware: ok
This is a BRAND NEW Hardware (bought at Fry's, & assembled by their Tech).
This is a BRAND NEW OS installation (by me**), as of (Date) May09-2014.
I installed all drivers for all the equipment. Ditto for any / all company updates!
I ran "carrona" Diagnostics - Memory & Bootable Hard Drive (www.carrona.org)

temperature: ok

Startup software: ok
I eliminated all but 2 items in Startup (avast, ZoneAlarm); & greaty reduced Services.
I Uninstalled any / all GeForce s/w ; I deleted Nvidia dirs; (this resulted in a very stable, but CRIPPLED PC).

& more --
I unplugged external Devices:
Cam
USB Seagate HD
USB Hitachi Touro HD

My PC has rebooted 10001 times since purchase!!!

The System is very unstable if I allow the GPU drivers.

In the current state, these are impossible to do:

1. Driver Verifier:

Per Tech Support Forum, I ran Microsoft Windows Driver Verifier
http://www.techsupportforum.com/for...orums/f299/driver-verifier-windows-8-1-8-0-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html
This was a massive !FAIL!, & ON Thursday, July 10, 2014, I ran verifier again (per above techsupport Forum); this time I ran it from safe mode, & got the same BS!!!! My system freezes at the Startup Repair Screen - the Keyboard & mouse REFUSE to work!!! It is impossible (!!) to run Repair ! When my system freezes all I can do is reset (usually takes 2 tries) & reboot to safe mode, to run "System Restore" *.

-
What remains then is my suspicion that there is a defect in the software driver (GTX 760) for the Samsung.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have exactly the same problem. It only appear with games that have directx like Insurgency, Skyrim etc.

It think we must change something of the register.

Did you had any problem of " Blue Screen" before?
Like this? nvlddmkm.sys

Did you do a downgrade before?
