Hi there,
I upgraded my gaming computer a couple weeks ago. I got an ASUS Z87-A motherboard, an i7 4770k CPU, and a GeForce GTX 780.
Whenever I put the computer under any stress (game, benchmark, etc) for a few minutes or a few hours it causes a BSOD with the error "STOP 0x0000124" which I googled and I think it's usually a hardware error, I'm not sure. I've tried using different RAM sticks and my old GTX580, and neither fixed the problem. The temperatures do not seem to be bad, I'm using the stock CPU cooler that came with it and I am not overclocking anything. Everything idles around 30C and during a benchmark they get about 70-80C.
I've seen plenty of threads about this BSOD with this motherboard but none ever have much of an answer. I'm not sure how to look at the .dmp file and the windows debugging tools have an error when they install.
Specs:
Corsair HX850W PSU
GeForce GTX 780
i7 4770k with stock cooler
ASUS Z87-A motherboard
8GB G.Skill Ripjaws RAM
My drivers are all up to date I'm 99.9% sure. I also reinstalled Windows 7 with a clean install and it did not change anything.
