Hi pepsiman, What can you tell me about the below startup?

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AsntDll.dll

If you dont know what it is, could you make sure that you can view hidden files and folders (and System Files) and run a search for AsntDll.dll. When you find it, copy it to a new folder, zip it up (this is important) and email it to me (include a link to this thread). My address is anniefriday@xtra.co.nz. I will post back when I have checked it out.

To get rid of LOP, go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall Window Search (if present). You will be given a security code to insert, do so and reboot when done.

If the entry is not there, run the below uninstaller (ignore your AV if it squawks).

http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe

Reboot afterwards and post a new log.

I see AnnMarie is here. Hi AM

Did you send that file over to AnnMarie yet? If not, do so now.

I'm almost 100% positive that it's a bad. Do you know what that AdSpider program is for? I assume you installed it? OK, I want you to check the creation/modified date for these files:

Asnt3.exe
AsntDll.zip
AsntDll.dll

They are located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ Just right click and go to Properties. Were they created/modified on the same date as that AdSpider program? I doubt it since these 3 look very suspicious, but check to make sure.

Since you ran the lop uninstall, I want to see if it did remove some entries there in HijackThis. So give us an updated HijackThis log now.

All part of the AdSpider network.

The AdSpider Network is comprised of a growing collection of free or discounted software applications that have our exclusive AdSpider technology built into them. The technology allows for highly targeted, unobtrusive advertisements to be displayed within the application on a constant basis. When the user clicks on the advertisement, their Web browser is started and taken to the associated site.
Bascially...ADWARE generator..that needs removed.

It is very likely that AsntDll.dll is installed by AdSpider but without examining the file, I cannot tell for sure. Have you analysed the file MicroBell?

AdSpider is also a Korean program that removes adware from a system (similar to Ad-Aware).
