I scanned with ad aware doesnt help, i cant even log into my email to confirm so i had my friend do it, really weird stuff i couldnt copy paste but now that is back up, my norton just stopped working out of nowhere its making me mad :/

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Make sure to update Windows and Internet Explorer at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it’s clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don’t have it already. Make sure it’s the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. Also make sure to customize the settings in Adaware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download Index.dat Suite to clean out all the temp folders.

Open up the program and go to Tools->Settings. Then make sure to check the following: Cookies, History, Recent Documents, Swap File (if you have Windows 95/98), Temporary Internet Files and Temp Files. Click Save at the bottom. Then click on the Find button. Let it search. Then click on the second button on the top. This will generate a batch file. Click Next->Next->Next and it will tell you that after the next reboot/restart you the file should run by itself and startup and clean all those files.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up).

Hopefully Adaware has removed some entries for you already. So if you see that something doesn’t exist anymore, Adaware probably fixed/deleted it already. Just continue on with the other fixes/deletions.

Make sure to close any open browsers.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:

It's an older CoolWebSearch varient, so, hopefully, the tools will get it without any problems.

Please go here and download, then run CoolWebShredder, by clicking on the Next button. You can also just update CWS by using the button provided, but you must use the latest version.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
· Automatically save log-file
· Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
· Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
· Scan Within Archives
· Scan Active Processes
· Scan Registry
· Deep Scan Registry
· Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
· Scan my Hosts file
· Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:
· All of your hard drives
Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
· Include additional process information
· Include additional file information
· Include environment information
Click the Tweak button and select:
· Under the Scanning Engine:
o Unload recognized processes & modules during scan
o Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
· Under the Cleaning Engine:
o Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
Click on Proceed to save the settings.

Click Start and on the next screen choose:
· Use Custom Scanning Options
Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

Reboot your computer.

Then please go here
and run the online virus scan. Please select the Autoclean option when prompted.

Then please reboot once more and post a new log.

Alrighty then! On to the HJT fixes.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box where it says “Turn off System Restore”. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it’s clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also.

Then, open Hijack this and click the “config” button in the “other stuff” area. Then, click “misc tools”, then “open process manager”. Please “kill” the following processes (you must kill them one at a time):

icqpro.exe
AVKillah.exe

Make sure to close any open browsers you have. Check and fix the following in HijackThis (make sure not to miss any):

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Delete the following Files/Folders , which I have put in bold type, according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

Then please reboot back into normal mode and go here
and run the online virus scan. Please select the Autoclean option when prompted.
