I have a Sony KP-51WS 520 wide screen projection TV. Every time I turn it on with the remote, or power button, the sound comes on, but no picture. Then the sound goes off. After the 2nd or 3rd time I power it, both sound and video come on and it works just fine. It is an old TV,but I would like to fix it if possible.
Don't know much about TV repair but if I have to look at it from a computer repair point of view, I would say that the part that outputs your video onto the screen is on its way out. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Could be the power supply .. Electrolytic capacitors are notorious for causing this type of problem in PC monitors .. Take it to an experienced Electronics REPAIR Technician
Sounds like it's had it but check your cable connections and video outs.
