PC upgrade question

Hello!

I'm planning on upgrading my current pc as it's 4 years old.
Last time I upgraded I bought everything new, so I had to install eveything afresh . This time, I'm just planning on buying a new mobo, gpu, psu, cpu, RAM and maybe case.

My question is...will my old HDD's work in the new build?
will I lose everything and have to re-install operating system and all programs etc etc?

any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Re: PC upgrade question

Basically you would be installing the old hard drive in a new PC.

It would be best to do a clean install.

It is possible that you can perform a a repair installation.

Re: PC upgrade question

I always recommend it for less problems with the new parts.

If you have multiple hard drives this is only for the drive that contains Windows.

Re: PC upgrade question

HI ShAdoW99x,

I too recommend performing a clean install of the Windows O/S on your upgraded system. First thing though, please back up all of your important data in your hard-drive to another hard-drive, usb flash drive, DVDs, etc.etc. Hope everything works out well for you.
