All other specs aside for the moment, the biggest problem that I have had finding a monitor that satisfied me is that they never seem evenly lit. The color on the edges are much dimmer or bent compared to the center (especially annoying when doing detailed image editing or using text boxes.) Even sitting dead center and turning my head slightly while reading text can affect the color more than I feel it should.
A monitor I bought years back was an LCD 4:3 SD FP, and the lighting on it was perfect, and it spoiled me. I looked through several LED and LCD/LED hybrids in stores as well as three monitors bought online and set back until finally getting one that was a lot closer than all the rest had been, a Dell UltraShap U2212HM. I am satisfied, I am really asking this question so that if I suddenly have another problem I will not be caught in this same bind again.
Is there some specific thing that I need to look for when looking through model specs that can help me narrow down monitors that fit this criteria?
