Hello, my monitor suddently won't detect any signal and then again continuously it restarts to search for signal sometimes. We tried the monitor to connect it to other computer, but still won't work. The model of the monitor is Acer X193w. We also tried to change the power cord, but that wasn't the issue, so it might be that something inside the monitor that isn't right, and not the PC. What might be wrong?
Since monitor doesn't work in a different computer, how old is it and can you think of something that happened which could cause physical damage. Also, if you updated to Windows 10, did you check the driver.
The monitor is like 6 years old and there was no physical damage happened (it never fell to the ground or spilled drink inside).
The computer is running Windows 7 and I did not upgrade to Windows 10. I also tried it on my third computer with Windows 10, but it gives the same results.
Since it only has the VGA port and given it's age along with connecting to another PC and it's not working....odds are very good that the monitor is/has gone bad.
I just discovered that the VGA port of the monitor is not working good, because when I connected the VGA cable, I unscrewed a little bit (there are two screws left and right) the cable and then the image appeared for 10 seconds and then it disappeared. So I think that the VGA port might be the problem. I'll try to open the monitor and see if something is wrong.
