My computer has recently developed a problem where after a period of time. normally 10-15 minutes, it stops picking up audio from the microphone of my Razer Kraken 7.1 headset (USB). Within these first minutes, the mic works perfectly. I've had the same headset plugged into my laptop for a long period of time, and the microphone works perfectly, it doesn't stop capturing audio. Both my desktop and laptop run Windows 7.
Whilst I'm on the search to resolve this issue, I've been using an old headset which uses the green audio and pink mic jacks and the microphone works all the time. This makes me believe there's some sort of conflict with the Razer headset/USB.
So far I've tried using different USB ports, un-installing and re-installing the drivers for the headset, un-installing and re-installing Razer Synapse, checked the settings for the mic within both Razer Synpase and the sound section of the control panel (everything seems fine and normal). None of these has worked so far. I'm possibly thinking about a system restore, but I'd rather wait to see if there are any other options out there.
I've not installed any new software on my computer since the problem began, so I'm suspicious that a Windows update has caused the problem.
Was wondering if anybody has any ideas to resolve this issue. If you need any more information then please let me know.
Thanks for your time
