DVD drive reading dvd's but not cd's
I have a dell laptop running Windows Xp pro. It has a DVD rom drive in it that up until recently worked fine. It now however will not read CD but will read DVD's. I have removed it and reinstalled, updated the drivers, restore to a time when it previously worked but none of these were succesful. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
