I just received a replacement card (evga Geforce GTX 650) July 21, '14. --The original, after about 1 month, began showing what I think was video ram artifacts imgur: the simple image sharer & became useless--. So I installed the new one along with newest driver. Everything running fine. Played some games (Crysis 1. Portal 2, Minecraft) without issue. Then, Sat, July 26th, my daughter attempted to run Portal 2 & the screen went black & my monitor showed a 'DVI no signal' message. I rebooted - same thing, no signal. Ended up taking the card out after I tried the other dvi port & my mobo dvi port (if the card is installed I get no signal to the monitor, even using the mobo output). With the card out & switched to onboard video I have a signal. I tried the card in both pci-e slots. When I boot my pc the video-card fan spins, so it seems to power up. Also, when I connect to the 2nd dvi port it seems my pc doesn't fully boot. If I press the power button the system shuts down instantly. When connecting to the first dvi port & I try booting & there's no signal, I press the power button I have to hold it a few seconds. A friend suggested trying an HDMI cable to rule out the dvi ports being faulty but I don't have one.
I also considered the mobo being at fault so I cleared my CMOS & reset bios to default & I still have no signal.
THEN,
I realized that my card wasn't being seated fully as it was going in ever-so-slightly crooked imgur: the simple image sharer (raised on the backend a few mms). Since I couldnt find any standoff extenders I removed the mobo, folded some small pieces of paper, put the standoffs on the backend through those, & reinstalled mobo (with backend now slightly raised) & reinstalled the vidcard which looked to be pretty much perfect. Plugged monitor back into mobo & booted up. This time it booted with the card in. Device manager shows the card AND intel graphics. I Disabled intel, shut down pc, plugged monitor back into card, tried to boot & still won't boot or show a signal. Then, lets try uninstalling all drivers. Did that. Shut down, plugged into card - nothing, still wont boot/show signal. Shut down, plugged into mobo, go into bios, selected pci-e this time, shut down. Plug into card. wont boot. Take card out, plug into mobo & boot up fine.
Thanks you for your time & patience.
I have no idea what else to do.
