Hello. I have just bought an HP 2009m 20in monitor to replace my old HP vs17x. The video on the old monitor flashed on and off a couple of times one day, then the monitor stopped working all together, with the light on the power button blinking on and off like it was resetting. Just now, not even a week after having this new monitor, it just flashed. I believe it to be the video card but I'm not sure.

My hardware Specs:

Windows XP SP 3
Athlon 64 (O) 3800+ 2.4 GHz
GeForce 6150 LE

That's all I can remember...it's a HP SR2013WM, everything is still stock in it.

GeForce 6150 LE is Onboard Graphics. I assume you got, and used, a new cable with the new monitor. You could try updating the Graphics Drivers from the HP site.

I did this and haven't had it blink yet. But now I am missing "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)", which I believe is the monitor, but upon installing the drivers off of the disc, it still didn't solve the missing driver. Plus I can't get the monitor back to 1600x900 like it was before.

Monitors are plug and play so no drivers are required. Did you get the graphics drivers from the HP site and are they the correct ones for your model PC?

You could download an install them again. It is possible to get a bad download.
It's possible the Onboard Graphics is failing.

Alright, that did it. I reinstalled a different driver before instead of the one I should have. Thanks.
