I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but it's the nearest I could find that fits the subject in hand.

As I frequently purchase sheet music online, I like to hear what it is I'm buying first, which is what the Sibelius Scorch Add-On is supposed to do. I have the latest version successfully installed, so that the samples on the websites are visible. However, whenever I try to play it, I can see the marker line going along, but I get no sound.

All other sounds are working on my PC, so I know there's not a problem with the soundcard.

I know that this is a common problem, as I've seen it as a FAQ in many other places, but have yet to see a working solution. The most common solution is to click on the Devices icon & try another device, but I only have the one there (UM-1).

Unfortunately I can't get any help from the Sibelius forums, as you need to be a registered owner of a Sibelius product in order to enter them, and Scorch is a freeware add-on - hardly the best advert for them.

Does anyone have any answers, as I've tried pretty much everything I can think of?

Except that everything there is to do with the full Sibelius program, and no mention of Scorch.

Hi Try opening sounds and audio devices in your control ... Make sure the Midi slide control or the SW Synth slide control is at maximum and also not muted. ...

I'm using Windows 7 & the controls for such settings are not the same as they were with XP, and such controls appear to be non-existent.
