Hi j4m4l,

One thing, please provide the specs of your computer. Posting computer specs definitely helps troubleshoot computer issues more efficiently. Is your computer a desktop or laptop computer? Have you tried going to the manufacturer's website of the motherboard and downloading the audio drivers?

Try this, go into the device manager and un-install the soundcard from the device manager. Reboot the computer and then let windows detect the sound device once you are logged back on onto windows. Then re-install the drivers and see if that works out for you. Hope everything works out well for you.

windows detects the driver and asks me if i should allow to update automatically, but when i press yes it starts copying few files and suddenly says that driver does not pass windows compatibility test... now i dont know what to do.

once i pressed allow anyway but at end of installation my pc just got shutdown abruptly, when i restarted nothing happened i.e. driver not found
please guide me what to do

Hi j4m4l and welcome to TSF

What make and model is your PC, or if it's custom-built, what make and model is the motherboard?

You need to download the drivers from the manufacturers web-site, rather than let Windows find them - They have the specific drivers for your PC.

I had a search around but was unable to find anywhere with the drivers for your PC

Do you have the HCL CD that came with the PC? That should have the drivers on it.
