DVD maker (also Polorid's my memmories suite) does not recognize my DVD/CD drive. However, the drive IS recognized when playing a DVD commercial movie and it IS recognized when I insert a previously recorded CD disk. The drive is NOT recognized in Windows Explorer when I insert a blank DVD or CD disk.

Device Manager states the DVD/CD-ROM drive is working properly.

It is labeled:HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8163B

I experienced the same problem when usxing Win XP. I have upgraded to Windoes 7. Anyone have a solution?

Go back into Device manager and uninstall the DVD drive.

>>Then restart your computer immediately. That should fix the problem. Otherwise you can get back to us.
