Question Windows 7 is So Slow??

The reason the subject line says Windows 7 is slow is simply because some of the windows 7 actions has to be related to this OS. My media player takes forever to load up, my remote takes a long time to set the volume up or down and so on. Seems like anything related to this OS is slow. Even while typing in this thread I type then a letter appears. i use Norton Internet Security 2012 and have no known issues. My browsers work great. All online actions work like they should it just seems to be anything offline. I hope I explained this well enough. Is anyone else out there having these same issues with their Windows 7?

Re: Windows 7 is So Slow??

How much memory do you have? . . Have you tried uninstalling NIS and see if speed improves?

Do you have XP or Windows 7? Your profile says XP but you are posting in the Vista/7 forum. Click on the link in my signature for PC Running Slow? and try those things.

Re: Windows 7 is So Slow??

Are you speaking of uninstalling Norton Internet Security and see if that makes a difference?

Yes . . You can reinstall it if it does not make a difference or if it does, use a less resource intensive A/V

Re: Windows 7 is So Slow??

Well uninstalling the NIS nothing changed that I could tell. Still much slower then it should be. My upload and download speeds are extremely high(did a connection test) so it is not that. Everything Offline is Slow!! Online all is well that is why I mentioned that it must be the OS 7 that is the cause of this intense slowness especially when using the Media Player. One would think it had a virus by the way it acts up. I will stay with it here and what other answers I find.
Thanks very Much!
