windows 7 for pentium 4

hi guys.
i would just like to know if a pentium 4 processor could support an upgrade of win 7 starter or haome basic, coming from an xp sp 2.

OS: XP SP3, Windows 7 SP1



Your best option would be to run the Windows 7 upgrade adviser. This will warn you about most hardware or software incompatibilities.

There is no direct upgrade path from XP to Win7. You will have to do a clean install.

Well I believe it could, assuming that your other hardware is all compatible, but it will definitely not run at a very optimal speed. If you still want to try it out, follow michaelchan's advice and run the Upgrade Advisor to make sure you'll at least be able to run it.
