No suggestions?

 

hi,
What make and model of pc, in particluar what SSD and HHD are you using, I take it you can see both drives in my computer and they report the sizes correctly? can you hear the HDD spinning, does it make any strange noises?

oh and what version of windows? and what type (home, pro ultimate) 32 bit/64 bit)

 

PC is a custom Build.

SSD is U100 128GB
HDD is SAMSUNG EcoGreen F4 ST2000DL004 2TB

Im running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

I had a working SSD/HDD setup but had to reformat. I let someone use my comp and then it started restarting every 3 mins. So I reformatted just the SSD but it no longer recognized I had a bunch of stuf installed on the HDD. So I backed it up and did a wipe of the HDD and did it again.

Well my problem is I follow that guide I posted and I can use both drives fine but:

-ALL the files installed from the windows disk on C:\ (SSD) no longer show up in the start menu.

-Only programs installed after onto the E:\ (HDD) show up

- Start -> Search for items that would have been from the windows install i.e. regedit cant be found. I have to go to Computer -> C:\ -> windows to open it manually.

Last time I did this everything was the same except the HDD had all the same files from the windows install on it also.

What did I do wrong for it to not have it in both places?

 

Not sure if this is the probelm but something I just read and I'm fairly certain I did the first time was I have not been changing my Sata Port from IDE to AHCI.

Well going to try switching it and if that doesnt work I'm going to switch it and during a new format....here we go again ^_^
