We have a SBS 2003 (32-bit) network with - until recently - all XP Prof 32-bit clients. Recently, we added two Windows 7-64 bit PCs to the domain. I am having problems mapping these two new W7-64 bit PCs to all of our HP Printers. I downloaded the HP drivers for the (Various) Windows 64-bit Operating Systems (one universal driver which includes W7-64 bit) but it will not install on the SBS 2003 server as the installer wants a 64 bit O/S. On the SBS 2003 box, when I try to add the drivers for another O/S, the Add for the HP 64-bit drivers fails to fully install. The 64-bit driver appears in Printers & Faxes/File/Server Properties/Drivers but not in (printer) Properties/Sharing/Additional Drivers. When I try to add the drivers to just the W7-64 bit box, the installer runs but still can not map to networked HP printers on the SBS 2003 server. Surely Microsoft should have anticipated this issue, no?
Any help on 64-bit printer drivers using Small Business Server 2003?
