Hi Everyone... A video codec/driver seized on my machine and corrupted vista/vista startup so that it will not boot... There are no recovery/repair options in the Advanced Boot Menu...Vista x64 came pre-installed...and the supplied recovery discs have no reppair options...only reformat and reinstall...thereby loosing everything... I booted Hirems and scandisk says that there are no disk errors...so it is an OS corruption...
When trying to load OS in any mode, the blue screen reads:
Shut down to prevent damage to computer.
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
STOP: 0x0000000ED (0xFFFFFA8006981A40, 0xFFFFFFFFC00000B5, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)
It seems that my problem is that Asus did not provide me with discs that have repair options...nor pre-install any... There has to be a way to repair Vista without having to loose everything with a re-install???
