Vista memory problem

I've just installed Vista on a new build machine based around a Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 mobo and Phenom X4 processor. I managed to instal Linux and WinXP with no problems but couldn't even boot Vista from the DVD. Evenually someone suggested removing one of the two memory 2GB memory modules. I did this and Vista installed with no problems. When I tried to put the memory back however, Vista imediately crashed on boot? Does anyone know how to sovle this problem?

hi it could be as simple as bad ram or even vista not liking that stick i sugest you swap out the one thats in at present and try the other just to elimenate that possibility

I've tried that - both are working ok individually.
