Hey all! My sony vaio vgn-fj290 was working fine this morning, and when I opened it this evening the log-in screen was frozen. Upon restart, it freezes where the green bars signify Windows loading. The comp starts in safe mode w/ networking just fine.

I am running on Windows Vista Ultimate, 32 bit service pack 1.

The only thing recently installed was Adobe Reader 9.2 update, but have since removed it thinking it might have had something to do with the problem.

I've also tried everything in this thread, as it was a similar problem, to no avail:

I have also tried Windows restore at 3 different time points, all with no luck. :4-dontkno
