VGA ADAPTER!!! This device cannot start. (Code 10)???

Hi everyone

Right let me begin, Just got new laptop (DELL XPS l502x) preloaded with windows 7 home...

I had a copy of windows 7 infinium (modded 7 enterprise or something? but looked really good!)

So I thought I would give it a go. Seems that it didn't have some of the drivers needed so I needed to install these separately. I thought I had done everything until this afternoon when I tried connecting the laptop to the tv via hdmi. Nothing happened? I started going through the usual settings but couldn't get it working!
Looked in device manager and under 'display adapters' - 'Standard VGA graphics adapter' I get the dreaded warning sign! I double click on 'Standard VGA graphics adapter' and get
This device cannot start. (Code 10)??

So I uninstalled it, ran a registry cleaner, restarted laptop, let windows find and install it but still receive same error!!!

I really need this to work as i use the laptop to watch films on the tv all the time!

Any ideas anyone?

Don't use any modded operating system, instead reinstall your original operating system using the provided OEM discs if you have them

First suggestion would be to remove the cracked copy of Windows 7 and reinstall the original preload and your problem will be solved.

I have only got the dell drivers and utility disc that came with the laptop. any good?

Did you format over the restore partition on the hard drive or is it still there?

There was different partitions I think i left the back up partition alone? it wasnt very big though?

A code 10 usually refers to a driver installation required but can also point to a hardware failure.
