My problem is that some time ago I downloaded the beta 2 version of Microsoft Vista, but now it has given me some problems when I start up my computer.

When I downloaded Vista, I installed it on another harddrive - thus it was installed on the D-drive whereas the XP version remained installed on the C-drive. Since then I decided to delete the Vista version. However, despite the fact that I have deleted the Vista version, I'm still asked which operation system I want to use when I start up the computer.

My question is: how do I get me computer to automatically start up with Windows XP as it did before.

you have to edit the boot.ini. after you have booted into xp, goto start>run. type in " msconfig " and hit ok. a window will show up. at the top will be some tabs. click on boot.ini. there is where it is set up to show the menu, and how long to show the menu. make sure that the xp line is set to default, and then delete the vista line. now that there is only one line, and its the default, the menu should not show up again.

so what issues did you have with vista. the only thing that i have had problems with was the hard drive it was on died, so i had to get a new drive and start over again. other wise it seems to running fine, and in some things, better than xp.
