I used Windows Media Player to rip the last song on the Beatles' "White Album" (Goodnight) and it always seems to come out as full of static. I know that there's not a problem with the CD, since I put it in a CD player and it plays just fine. I'm wondering if this is a problem with my laptop's disc reader. I haven't had this problem before, and I'm wondering if it has to do with it being the very last song on the album or something. Any ideas on what to do about it?
They work fine in other systems. The weird thing is that this problem seems to be intermittent. I can rip some CD's just fine but others have problems.
If the CD ripping via WMP on your system is intermittent, yet no problems on another system (which seems to rule out CDs as the issue), the problem then is either the DVD drive or the OS installation itself - your system.
Before replacing DVD drive, I suggest that you re-install OS.
