I have a printer called Sharp AR-M237. It is a commercial printer and I would like to put it in my network so I can use the printer, the scan and email directly from the printer. My operating system is a laptop vista window7. I need to put an IP: Address. I have the original software that came with the printer and i already installed it in my laptop, but it doesn't work. The only thing I know is to turn the computer on and type. I would need a step-by-step direction to get this done. Sincerely appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi, :wavey: and welcome to TSF.

The drivers on the software disc would likely be out of date. The best place to get the latest driver is usually the manufacturers website but I'm wondering if you have the latest Microsoft Updates. I think, if you had, Microsoft would have supplied a driver good enough to get it working.

Click the Start button, then All Programs, them Windows Update

Let us know how you get on with that. If it doesn't work, don't worry, there are ways to update the driver but we'll do it one step at a time.

You have mentioned 2 different versions of the Windows Operating System, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Which one is it? Is it 32Bit or 64Bit? Right click (My) Computer and choose Properties, it should tell you.
To install your printer, Remove the USB cable for the printer from the computer end and restart the computer. Download the printer software from the link that Joe provided. Choose your version of Windows. During the install of the printer, During the install it will ask if you want to connect USB, Wired, or Wirelessly. Choose your option and follow the prompts.
