I have a laptop running Windows Vista.
Very often, when I try to print to my network printer, the program can't find the printer. When I try to add a printer, I get the message that the Print Spooler Service isn't running.
I found MATS (Microsoft Automated Truble Shooting) on Microsoft's website, and when I run this program, it fixes the problem. But it only lasts a short time, sometimes as little as a half hour, and the printer is gone again. Then I have to keep repeating the fix.
I have 2 questions.
1) Why do I lose the printer.
2) Is there a permanent fix?
